Birds have coexisted with for several million years. And all the while, they were never a cause of problems or of much concern to us as of 19th century. It wasn't until the late 20th century where people started realizing birds as pest and getting annoyed or paranoid thanks to their impact on our daily lives. This factor was realized in the famous director's Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds" released in the year 1963. In fact until then birds were treated as beautiful creatures and some even went on to have them as pets. However when it is just a matter of one or two it was never a big concern. The biggest of worries come when they attack us or our resources as a flock and birds do that quite frequently if not curtailed.

When they start to overrun your home, they conquer whatever they can, leaving behind only devastations. They have the tendency to create nuisance quickly and thus has to be monitored and controlled using pest control services. They mainly infest on urban places, food distribution centers, commercial buildings or offices and other housing units creating havoc and dirtying the place. They can cause quite some nuisance health wise too as they contaminate our food and water. They can disturb our peace while working in office and bother us in several possible ways.

You have two options when it comes to handling them. When it is just a matter of 2 or 3, you yourself can handle tem by setting traps etc. Of course even then you should have some fair bit of knowledge regarding pest control. If in case a large group of birds has conquered your home, the above suggestion is not advisable. I would suggest that you seek a professional expert's service. He has experience, technical knowledge and proper training to handle huge flocks of birds. Trying to handle by ourselves in such cases can be quite hazardous to both our health as well puts tremendous pressure on our loved ones. In worst case scenarios it can even lead to death.

Some of the common birds that infest urban areas are pigeons, sparrows, crows, swallows, gulls etc. Pigeons especially infest heavily populated areas where ample food resources are available. To add insult to injury, fleas, ticks, mites and other ectoparasites tend to thrive in birds nest and leave their droppings. Birds cause contamination of air ducts. We need to clean and sanitize our air ducts regularly to prevent health issues. One thing invariably leads to another and it forms a pattern. Bird infestation leads to rodent infestation as they thrive on eating birds. They start accessing our homes for food in search of birds. This leads to more mental trauma and more financial burden as we keep calling for pest control services to exterminate them.

Life is indeed like a wheel and if you start getting entangled in between them, it's going to keep turning around again and again and again until we untangle ourselves. The same holds pretty much true when it comes to pest control.
