. Birthdays are an important part of a child's life and creating a scrapbook for them is a nice keepsake that they will treasure. There are all kinds of possibilities. Here are a few themes to get you motivated.

Bears

Bears are always a hit with kids. They are loveable and huggable. What kid doesn't like them? You can also use any other animal that is appropriate for your child depending on the type of animal they like. Dinosaurs are always a hit with boys.

You can cut the bears out of paper and you can add glitter or ribbon or anything you choose to the bear. Bears come in all sizes and can be used for any occasion, and for both boys and girls. Use your imagination and see what you come up with. There are many bear stamps, stickers, paper cut-outs and more for you to use. Simply make a run to your local craft store for supplies to suit your needs.

There are many places to get these supplies and most of them are reasonably priced so it will fit any budget.

Grunge

For some people, grunge can be fabulous, while others may not like it as much. Dark paper always makes for a nice background when you are doing this style.

You can add borders to the paper in a different color maybe a bit brighter and round the corners with cut outs. You can use art stamps for stamping with distressed ink or a larger stamp for stamping with various tones and colors.

However, you can get the same effect without needing a stamp. You can take a different shade of paper and cut an interesting shape out.

Star signs

You can make a layout based on what sign your child is. You can buy a stamp based on the sign or something similar and stamp it all over the paper you are using for the page of the scrapbook.

You can also draw the constellation on the outer edge where there is space to make it have more personal touch to it. Nothing says you're a star like their constellation in a scrapbook you made for them.

Adding personal pictures can be a great way to personalize the scrapbook. Using ones that are digital has an advantage as they cannot be damaged. You can just make another copy of that picture and start over.

Scrapbooking will always be a growing hobby among many individuals. There are a lot of things that you can make and do. You will be overwhelmed with all of the pages, layouts and themes there are to choose from so begin slowly and once you are ready, go full force with it.
