The Blackberry Curve 8520 is nice smart phone with a low budget entry, and with all the required features. This a 2G phone with Wi-Fi, 2.0 megapixel camera and 256 MB of onboard memory. The phone is available in a very sleek structure and vibrant colours. With a weight of 3.7 oz or 105 gm, it is 4.29 inch high, 2.36 inch wide and 0.55 inch deep. The display is a trans-missive TFT LCD, with highly light sensitive screen, selectable font size option available for the user and comes with a high resolution of 320*240 pixels of colour display.

Talking of the storage options, it comes with 25 MB onboard memory and supports MicroSD cards for expandable memory options. This mobile phone comes with an 1150 mAh removable and rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which can serve up to 4.5 hours of talk time and up to 408 hours or 17days of standby time. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 model has a 3.5 mm stereo headset and a built in speakerphone. It comes with Polyphonic or MIDI and MP3 ringtone supports, vibrate mode and LED indicators. This is 35 key QWERTY keypad mobile with backlit keyboard. There's an optical trackpad on the front, an ESC key to right of the track pad and Menu key is on the left. The dedicated keys are Send or Power, Mute, End, VAD (customizable) and Camera (customizable), with zoom and volume buttons.

The 2.0 megapixel camera comes with 5X zoom, fixed focus and video recording options. Both the Blackberry Curve 8520 and 8530 can play the same video formats of MPEG4, H.263, H.264, WMV9, and audio formats of AAC+, eAAC+, WMA9, and comes with Windows Media 10 Standard or Professional players. The Wi-Fi specifications are Cisco CCX certified, 802.11 b/g, WPA or WPA2 Personal and Enterprise versions, they also support UMA. The Blackberry Curve 8520 comes in a Quad-band network support, 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 Hz GSM or GPRS networks and in 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 Hz EDGE networks and Wireless modem. The model consists of Bluetooth version 2.0, and the Bluetooth headset profile, hands free profile, phone book access profile etc.
