Blackberry 8520 Range Gets The Red Blackberry Curve

A new colour variant has now been added to the Blackberry 8520 Curve range

, the Blackberry 8520 Red is the latest addition to the popular series which offers quick text input from its front facing Qwerty keyboard and multiple social networking support.

The range has proved popular with those people wanting a Blackberry phone without the large price tag of some of the more advanced models, the Blackberry Curve 8520 manages to pack in those essential features and offer a great looking exterior which could be mistaken for a top-end device.

The new red edition joins a growing number of colour schemes in the range which now includes the Blackberry 8520 White, Violet, Purple, Blue and original black model. This latest handset offers the very same great features but encases them in a new deep red housing and is also known as the Fuchsia Red edition.

These features include WiFi for internet connections on the go, a 2.0 mega pixel camera for snapping quality pictures and video clips, support for Microsoft Office documents for conducting business away from the office and the new optical track pad which replaces the older style track ball which was prone to wear with heavy use.

The front facing Qwerty keyboard allows for quick text input when composing emails, text messaging and updating social network profiles, there is also support for Flickr for uploading and storing photographs on the web.

The Blackberry range of phones does not experience the same rate of expansion as many of the other manufacturers, the most recent product launches include the Blackberry 8900 and Blackberry 9700 both of which are higher specification devices with 3.5G support but with a similar design layout.

Competition from other manufacturers comes mainly from phone models with either a front facing keyboard or a slide out Qwerty keyboard, these include the Samsung B3410, the new Orange Rio Pink, the Alcatel 808 Pink, the INQ Chat 3G, LG GW300 and the Samsung Genio Qwerty.

The new red Blackberry 8520 has been initially released as a SIM Free phone, this means that it is unlocked to all of the network operators allowing the user to choose to use either a pay monthly contract or pay as you go SIM card on the network of their choice.

There are planned launches of this latest red model on further networks although no confirmed release dates have been released so far.
