Blog Comments Advertising
When you visit a blog, you can see a ''comments'' area
. What is the use of that area? It seems that many surfers do not know the difference between a 'comment' and a 'free ad'. Again, the question: ''Why there is a comments area on a blog?''.
If you log into your WordPress admin area, then go to ''general settings'', you will see the word ''discussion''. If you click on it, you will be brought to a place where you can put some controls on the comments area.
It is called 'discussion' and not 'free ad placement'. Sorrily, too many surfers seem to believe that they have the right to post what ever they want. It is not the case, comments is for discussion and not publicity.
A comment must be relevant to what is written on the blog new or old. Posts like :'good post' or 'glad to see that blog' or any kind of empty posts like this are not considered as relevant posts. Neither are post that are an ad.
Comments are strictly for discussion. Many bloggers now are just closing their comments area because they got fed up with all these ''spams'' posts. Yes, it is considered as spam because rules are not respected.
For those that think that you have the right to post what ever you want, do not be surprise if your posts are deleted.
Many bloggers have multiple blogs and they soon realized that the same ad was posted in their comments area. It confirms that some surfers are using blogs without any respect of the blog owner and post only to get back links. It shouldn't be this way.
A good and relevant comment proves that the blog post was read. The commentator will give his opinion (in good terms, of course) if he agrees or not to the post and why. He does not have to put an ad in the comments area.
There is a place where he can put his site or blog URL, so no reason to put it somewhere else. It is obvious that some people just do not care about rules and that is pathetic. If you realize that your post have been deleted, think about it twice, it might be because your ''comment'' is not relevant.
More, when you have relevant posts, readers will visit your site or blog only (not a landing page). You will earn trust from the readers. That is a lot better in the long term than any spam post.
As a blogger, if you are tired of ads in your comments area, simply go to your WordPress admin area, general settings, discussion. There, you will find ''other comment settings'' and the third line is: ''Automatically close comments on articles older than (number of days) days'' Check the little box in front of it and type '0' for the number of days. It will turn off the comments area.
As a commentator, read the post, agree or disagree and give a reason why. Do not put any link in your comment except if it is to give a proof of what you are writing. Any other link might be considered as spam. Put your name and a real email address (yes, some people just put a fake email address).
That's it, you comment will be approved. And you will get a good reputation.
