Now that you have created your own Christian blog and it has already been launched on the internet, it is about time that you learn the difference between blog pages and posts so that you know how to proceed with your blog.
The major difference between blog posts and blog pages include:
-Structure
-Storage
Structure
When we talk about the natural arrangement of blog posts, they are actually arranged in chronological order. This means that the most recent post that you made will be archived on top of all the posts you made thus far.
Let us take an example of a pile of paper. If you arrange it in a way so that the bottommost paper is the oldest and the topmost paper is the most recent, you are actually doing the same for your blog posts. If you want to make the bottommost paper to be on top of everything else then you need to get it from there and update the contents. This manner is done so that people will immediately see the changes and the updates without having scan through your previous posts.
This is the simplest explanation for people who find blogging as complicated. Sure, you are blogging solely to spread your faith and testimony or promote inspiration among your readers but if you don't understand how the structure of blogs works then you wouldn't be as efficient.
On the other hand, blog pages are not arranged in the same order as the blog posts. If you make a page on your blog, they will remain static all throughout even when they are updated anytime. They also remain unordered unless you configure them manually. Blog pages also remain on your navigation bar and you can update them without worrying about their change of location.
Storage
As previously mentioned, blog posts are usually archived and stored on your blog theme. They are automatically included on the archive and they are arranged depending on their post dates.
Blog pages on the other hand are not stored chronologically and they don't become part of the archive. They are just part of the navigation bar which you can access quickly through it.
You can find Christian websites where you can blog for free and even then their platform follows the same arrangement of blog posts and blog pages.
