Bob Saget Tickets - Why Bob Saget Isn't So Family-friendly

Although he may be commonly associated with such family-friendly fare as Full House

and America's Funniest Home Videos, to assume Bob Saget's standup routine is fun for the whole family is a big mistake. Saget kicked off a stand-up tour on October 6 and will be bringing his adult brand of humor to audiences across the States, stopping in San Francisco, CA; Vancouver, BC; Sacramento, CA; New York, NY; Ridgefield, CT; Columbus, OH; Royal Oaks, MI; Kansas City, MO; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX. A native of Philadelphia, Bob Saget began honing his stand-up skills at the Comedy Store after dropping out of film school. After moving to New York in 1987, Saget landed the co-host spot on The Morning Program, but his big break occurred later that year when he was tapped to play patriarch Danny Tanner on the sitcom Full House. The actor-comedian starred as the squeaky-clean character for which he is best known on the ABC show from 1987 until 1995, playing dad to his three fictional daughters (Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). While critics harpooned Full House for its sappy storylines, the show was nonetheless a ratings goldmine and garnered large audiences for its eight years on air.

Saget was selected to host ABC's bloopers show America's Funniest Home Videos in 1989 and continued to man the mildly funny show even after Full House ran its course. Once both of his small screen roles ended, Saget returned to stand-up, although some audiences found it hard to separate Saget from him television alter ego, which made his often-vulgar jokes hard to swallow. Eventually Saget found a new audience that embraced his often-crude jokes and even made an appearance on the hit HBO series Entourage, in which he played a caricature of himself-complete with prostitution and pot smoking.

In 2007, Saget wrote, directed, produced and provided vocals for Farce of the Penguins, a comedy/documentary/love story that he created with producer David Permut and Thinkfilms. The R-Rated release (based on 2005's March of the Penguins) featured narration by Samuel L. Jackson as well as the voices of Tracy Morgan, Mo'Nique, Christina Applegate, Lewis Black and others. Also in 2007, Saget successfully tried his hand at Broadway with a role in the Tony Award-winning musical comedy The Drowsy Chaperone.

The following year, The Comedy Central Roast of Bob scored the second highest ratings (beat out by a little event called the Olympics), and he is slated to appear on the upcoming six-episode series Behind the Green Door in 2010. The Aristocrats director and fellow comedian Paul Provenza will host the show, which will feature comedians like Saget, Roseanne Barr, Drew Carey, Sandra Bernhard, Andy Dick and others tackling various topics. After a brief return to television with the ill-fated ABC sitcom Surviving Suburbia, Saget is back on the road peddling his adult humor to audiences.
