Boca Raton Cadillac proud to have models names in Top Safety Picks list

We have no qualms about the safety of Cadillac models and apparently, neither does the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, who rated two 2011 Cadillac models with the highest safety rating in the roof-strength tests. The Cadillac CTS and Infiniti M37/M56 got a top rating of "Good" for the roof tests, which measure the protection provided to passengers in a rollover crash. This is part of a four-stage evaluation that the IIHS performs on hundreds of models annually to provide rating information to the insurance industry and to consumers.

Customers of the West Palm Beach Hummer dealer will find many other Cadillac models with impressive crash test ratings. The IIHS ratings are very highly regarded, but are one only performed by consumer groups and insurance affiliates.

The Cadillac CTS and Infiniti M models were in the large luxury class, which also gave "Good" ratings to the Mercedes E-class, Volvo S80, BMW 5 Series, Lincoln MKS and Hyundai Genesis, the new kid on the luxury car block.

Some other brands didn't fare quite as well, but a less-than-good rating doesn't mean the car is unsafe, just not as safe as it could be. In many cases auto makers have used the IIHS rating to determine how they can improve safety on their vehicles for the next model year.

In this year's test the Audi A6 and the Lexus GS, 2010 models, earned "Acceptable" ratings on the roof-strength test and the Acura RL got only "Marginal" scores. But these luxury cars are still considered top of the line by their makers and will likely have improved ratings with the next model year.
