Body Lift: Care After Total Body Lift Procedure
We are the sum total of many small parts, all working in unison to move us through our lives
. These small parts also combine to create our appearance, like the points of a painting combing at a distance to form a whole that will (hopefully) be a work of fine art.
While this is true, sometimes we must address these many small points on the grand scale. This can be accomplished with the selected use of body lift cosmetic surgeries.
"Body lift" is a general term describing a number of different smaller cosmetic surgery procedures that encompass the larger part of the body. It can either be described as a lower lift or an upper lift, with each style of lift focusing on the hips, leg and buttocks, or the torso and face.
It can involve a number of different procedures all focused on tightening and toning parts of the body. This usually requires at least some fat removal, followed by a tightening of the skin to remove excess tissue.
There are many things to consider following your body lift procedure. Some pain and irritation is to be expected, particularly when considering a surgery as all encompassing as a body lift.
Your doctor should be able to prescribe pain medication as needed, taking into account any other medical conditions or medications you might be under. You should expect a prolonged period of low activity following the procedure, gradually returning to your normal daily routine.
Your doctor may also recommend a change in diet, in order to make sure you are getting the right kind of nutrition to aid your recovery while not putting any strain from weight gain onto your new body.
As you rest over the following weeks, your pain and discomfort should subside. If you notice any prolonged pain, increased irritation, or signs of infection, consult your doctor immediately. It also might be a good idea to set up additional follow-up appointments to track your recovery.
After you have healed, you may also want to schedule a follow-up exam with your doctor to discuss the possibility of more surgeries. As you examine your post body lift body, you may be able to see more clearly other areas that may require further attention.
Whatever you decide, it's important to do your research and follow doctor's orders. Make sure that you work with your doctor to make each individual body part work for you as a whole through this procedure.
