Bollywood film industry is considered as one of the biggest film industries in the globe
. It all started in the year 1913 when Dadasaheb Palkhe made the first Indian silent movie. After the making of more such old Hindi movies by the Indian film industry and much of experience, the industry grew over the years and then produced movie Kisan Kanya, it was the first colour movie in the history of bollywood.
Then there was no stopping for the Bollywood industry, as it started producing many old Hindi movies like Awaara and Pyassa, which were extremely successful. Vibrant colour, cultural dance and classical music helped to achieve worldwide recognition for the Bollywood industry. During this period, the duration of movies was 2-3 hours or even more, but latest Bollywood movies hardly have duration of 2 hours.
In 1980s, cinema was not just a dose of entertainment, but also became heavily commercialised with the movies produced like Chandni, Maine Pyaar Kiya, Tezaab and Kayamat Se Kayamat Tak and continued in the year 1990s also with the release of Hindi new movie like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Baazigar and Darr. These movies were mostly romantic stories and were big blockbusters
The trend continued in 2000s with releases of latest Bollywood movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, which were fabulous love stories. Later, Hindi new movie like Chandni Bar, which got many critical acclaims turned Indian cinema to the production of more realistic movies.
Then, latest Bollywood movies went under a huge transformation including many improvements and changes. Hindi new movie started adopting trends somewhat similar to the western movies, as there was rise in popularity of bollywood movies. Western-style scripting formats are followed in todays new Hindi movies. Bollywood industry started producing 800 movies or even more annually. The reason why producers make so many movies is that there is no shortage of latest Bollywood movies lovers.
When huge budgeted films like Veer went flop and movie like Dev D, a small budgeted movie achieved an unbelievable success, producers and directors came out with change in the concept of latest Bollywood movie. This has led to a new trend of making movies, which are experimental. Movies like My Name Is Khan and 3 Idiots achieved huge success and are loved and welcomed by the Indian cinema audience.
Today, Indian cinema has achieved its remarkable position on the globe, as many Indian actors and actresses are invited to work with Hollywood directors. This collaboration of Indian and Western cinema has set a new trend with more different ideas and concept to entertain the audience.
