Book Into A Bath Hotel To See The Many Delights Of Somerset
Located in the north east of the Somerset county
, the city of Bath is one that is extremely popular to visit, partially due to its close proximity to London (the city is less than one hundred miles from the capital) and in part due to its status as a World Heritage Site (for which it has been for over two decades). However, whilst Bath may have an abundance of sights and attractions within the many square miles that it covers, it can provide people with an ideal place to use as a base for a tour of the whole of Somerset.
Further to Bath, there are six other districts in Somerset, each of which has many of their own attractions that draw a substantial amount of visitors all throughout the year. Whilst it may be impossible to visit all of the districts fully in one stay, or even a large percentage of the attractions that are available, by carrying out in-depth and comprehensive planning before your trip, you can ensure that you see a brief yet respectable section of each of the seven districts in Somerset.
Taunton, in the district of Taunton Deane, for example, has a fantastic cider brewery called Sheppys Cider, which arranges some great walks and tours of the brewery, allowing for people to try the produce along the way and then purchase their favourite tipple that is made from the brewery at the end of the tour.
Another prime example is Exmoor National park, which is located in the West Somerset district. Covering an area of over two hundred and sixty square miles, Exmoor National Park is largely in West Somerset but there is a percentage, approximately just over a quarter, in the neighbouring county of Devon. Fascinating, awe-inspiring and particularly beautiful, several days can be spent simply walking through the vast amount of open land.
Further to these two popular attractions, it is a small town in the district of Mendip that is particularly popular with people from all over the world and is known as Glastonbury.
Host to the massively famous Glastonbury Festival, the town itself is one that is full of sights and attractions that are regularly visited. Furthermore, there are many myths and legends that are related to the town of Glastonbury and for people who have carried out a small amount of research before their visit, a trip to Glastonbury can be an extremely interesting and intriguing one.
The amount of Bath hotels are copious and there are many different types available, from 1 star hostels that provide a clean and comfortable place to rest your head after a day in the city and surrounding towns, right through to five star establishments that feature everything from a swimming pool and spa to twenty four hour room service and some of the best views in the city. Due to this reason, it is extremely possible for everyone, irrelevant of their budget, to use one of the many Bath hotels that are available as a fantastic base for a tour of the wider Somerset county.
