Most of Boston's starting lineup didn't have to travel far for Tuesday night's game in Oakland as Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen were in Los Angeles for the All-Star game on Sunday. The Celtics begin a four-game West Coast trip on Tuesday against a Golden State team that has won three straight.
Golden State is playing better than they have all season and they are within three games of .500. The Warriors have taken advantage of a favorable schedule and have become a team worth watching. Head coach Keith Smart has done a nice job with Golden State. The Warriors won their last three games before the All-Star break as they beat Oklahoma City, New Orleans and Utah. With 26 wins this season the Warriors have already matched last season's win total.
Golden State has owned the Celtics in Oakland in recent seasons as the Celtics have lost six straight times at Golden State. Boston has the best winning percentage of any team in the Eastern Conference so this won't be an easy game for Golden State but they have the ability to win it. Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry should be able to give the Boston guards some trouble. It will just be a matter of how Golden State handles the inside game of the Celtics. Golden State's overall defensive numbers this season are poor but in their last three games they didn't allow any team to score more than 100 points.
