BOXING BAG

BOXING BAG

Boxing is a martial art type of sport involving two persons of the same weight fighting with their fists. The sport is played by males or females. The game is closely overseen by a referee who will settle on the individual coming out as the victor at the end of the game. The game consists of different segments normally three-minute rounds and there are three methods to win. If one player is knocked out and is unable to get up before the referee counts to ten seconds, the contestant standing is the winner of the competition. If one contender is considered too injured to keep on fighting then the next player is considered the champion. Sometimes the contestants will go round after round without stopping. In this case, the referee will decide on a champion or the judges scores will determine the winner.

Boxing is still a famous sport nowadays but it was more popular and supported in the late seventies and eighties. It is not as common as some sports where the moment you mention a players name for example Michael Jordan the sport is acknowledged. You may bring up a boxers name and young people are confused. Two of the most well-known boxers are Mohammed Ali and Mike Tyson.

Boxing is an action-packed, anaerobic sport and hence the importance of training and sufficient preparation cannot be negelected. The throwing of punches rapidly round after round while facing a rival with the same goal in mind is not an easy job. As a result, a boxer must be ready to fight with power and his body must be ready to maintain the same intense punches from beginning to the end of a match. To train effectively, it is vital to have the relevant equipment needed. One tool that significantly assist to prepare a boxer for the ring is a boxing bag.

A boxing bag, also called a punching bag is a unique workout tool that boxers use as part of their training in throwing punches and enhancing various punching techniques. It is a very heavy bag, hence it is also called a heavy bag. There are four main types of boxing bags:

1.The first bag is the primary type to start out with as it is made for basic training. The perfect starter bag should be half your body weight. For example your weight is 140 pounds, your bag should be 70 pounds.

2.The next bag is one that weighs twenty pounds less than your starter bag. This bag is used to increase your speed by throwing quick jabs, not hard punches else it will fly everywhere. This is also suitable for children who like the excitement of boxing and may be training with an adult. Using the example above, this bag would be 50 pounds.

3.The next bag that is required for training is one that is heavier than the light bag, about 20 pounds more. The aim of this bag is to build up strong punches. This would weigh 90 pounds pertaining to the example used.

4.The next bag is geared at getting the boxer developed. This bag is not bullet-shaped like the others but has a broad, extended upper half bulging out supplying an ideal contact point. It is heavier than your basic bag and is perfect for building strong blows. It may be a little harder to train with if you are not familiar with one.

Tip:

It is recommended that you purchase a boxing bag stand to support your bags. The stands are especially made to hold the weight of the bags and to resist the jerks and motions throughout intense training exercises.
