Boys Clothes - Quality, Hard-wearing And Fun
Shopping for boys clothes can sometimes be a dispiriting business
. There are all the racks of pretty girls' clothes in a wide variety of colours and patterns, flowery dresses, cute T-shirts, adorable little jackets and jumpers. Then you come to the boys' clothes, which look like drab brown sparrows next to bright birds of paradise. High street boys clothes only seem to come in either dull or mini-gangster mode. Mothers of boys looking for good quality but fun clothes, that their sons will love, have a hard time shopping, especially with the boys in question lagging along behind, often less than thrilled with the whole shopping process anyway.
So what is it that mothers of boys want for our sons clothing?
First of all it has to be hard-wearing, which means good quality, tough fabrics with sturdy stitching.
Boys clothes tend to take a lot of heavy wear, from tree-climbing to kicking balls around in all weathers, to dedicated pushing around of toy trains on knees day after day. Trousers especially tend to go through at the knees in no time if the fabric is not tough enough. It would be nice if boys' clothes would last long enough to be passed down to a younger brother, but at least they should last long enough to be grown out of properly.
Next on the list is style and colour. Boys' clothes shouldn't have to be dull and drab. Little boys love colour just as much as little girls do, though somewhere along the line they usually pick up on the fact that girls have a monopoly on pink! But there are loads of colours that are great for boys: orange, yellow, bright blues and greens, red, so there is no need for clothing to play safe with nothing but dull khakis and camouflage mud browns. As far as style goes it can be hard to find the middle ground between boring and extreme street fashions down-sized for boys. Dressing boys like mini-gangsters or rap artists usually doesn't appeal, but neither does dressing them in style-free geek mode. Fun styles for real boys are what is needed.
Last of all boys clothes need to be affordable. Children grow so fast that spending a fortune on designer labels really doesn't make sense, especially when you have more than one child to clothe, school and feed.
So where can mothers of boys look for affordable, good quality, fun boys clothes, when they return from dragging round the high street, weary, with empty hands and a splitting headache?
Shopping for
boys clothes online has proved to be the answer for many mothers. Find a website that has a good collection of boyswear and stocks a few tried and tested quality brands. The great thing about shopping online for boys is that you can choose a few items, show them to your son on screen and get instant feedback from him on preferred colour, without having to drag him round the shops. It makes the decision process far shorter and sweeter for both mother and son.
Start off just by ordering one or two items to check the quality and service, and then when you have found an online boyswear store that you trust, you can order your boy's whole wardrobe from one place, if you like, solving that age old dilemma of boys clothes in one easy stroke.
