Bp Oil Spill Politics Are Unchanged During The Largest Environmental Disaster In America

As many Americans continue to go about their busy lives

, those who are living near the Gulf Coast are continuing to experience the harm that the BP oil spill has caused to their livelihood. Although it has been three months since the oil rig explosion and massive leak in the the ocean waters of the Gulf, BP politics have not changed very much in the effort to get things cleaned up. While the world watches the trouble being caused by the largest environmental disaster ever faced, it seems as though the political aspect in Washington is at a stand still as neither side can agree on the best course of action.

It seems as though BP oil politics will never change, even after the disaster we are seeing happen right before our eyes. While President Obama has laid out a plan to get the BP oil spill cleaned up, to compensate those that live within the Gulf states, and to make sure nothing like this ever happens again, the Republicans within Washington are making it quite difficult to go ahead with anything that could potentially help the matter. This is just one sign that BP politics are still in play as thousands of people spend countless hours every day trying to clean the Gulf Coast.

Some of the regulation that has been put into a plan by President Obama include a plan to legally force BP to set aside funds into an escrow account to cover claims, a plan to restore the Gulf Coast to a state that is better than what it was before the BP oil spill occurred, a plan to improve the regulations of off-shore drilling, and a plan to reduce dependency on fossil fuels. While everyone does agree that the massive oil leak needs to be taken care of quickly and cleaned up right away, the Democrats and Republicans cannot agree on much more pertaining to this mess. Back in the beginning of July, a federal court rejected the bid to ban deepwater drilling temporarily due to the BP oil spill, a court in which US District Judge Martin Feldman is known to have many investments in several oil and gas companies.

Although plans are always in the works to keep trying new ways to get the Gulf coast cleaned up and prevent a future oil spill, it takes more time than what seems to be available to get anything passed. With neither side willing to agree on what to do, one might have to wonder how anyone in America will be able to survive with the largest environmental disaster is happening right on the doorstep.
