Many women have chosen to have breast augmentation performed and are very glad that they did it

. A full bustline is a lovely addition to the curvy female body and implants can provide just the bump up that may be needed. But this shouldn't a slapdash decision. Careful homework needs to be done in order to avoid the following mistakes:

- Choosing the wrong surgeon: The surgeon who performs the procedure should be carefully selected. Don't choose someone just because they have a cheap price or nice advertising layout. It's crucial to find out about their reputation, training and experience. Viewing "before and after" photos of previous patients is a must, as well. A picture says a thousand words and you want to see actual evidence of his or her talented handiwork.

- Selecting the wrong sized implant: How big is too big? Having large bosoms may seem like the answer to all of life's problems, at least that's the way it appears on television and in the movies. But hold on a minute-a person's body type, bone structure, and weight need to all be taken into account. A double D cup might look fantastic on that tall, stately woman, but the petite one may end up looking like she may topple over at any moment. It's all about proportion. Try a few implants in varying sizes out in a practice bra and get a realistic feel for how they work with your individual physique.

- Believing that having large breasts will magically transform your life and solve all of your problems. While an improvement in one's appearance will likely increase self esteem and enhance many areas of your life, it's still up to the individual to make wise choices and be motivated in their life. Boobs are pretty but nothing beats a good brain.

- Putting the elective procedure on your nearly maxed out credit card. This is a big mistake! Be responsible with your finances when paying for a breast augmentation. Save up the money or sell an asset so that you can pay cash.

- Having this procedure performed when you're sixteen and still want to have a houseful of kids and possibly breast feed your children someday. If your dream is to breastfeed your babies, you'll want to hold off on that boob job until after you've weaned them all. Lactating is sometimes not possible after this operation has been performed. For just this reason, the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) has put certain age restriction on the procedure.

Be smart; avoid these wrong moves in order to have a happy breast augmentation experience with just the right amount of cleavage.
