Breast augmentation using silicone implants is a popular way of getting bigger, fuller breasts that compliment the shape and beauty of the female figure. Silicone implants have a pre-filling of silicone gel, a sticky and thick fluid that closely resembles human fat with respect to touch. Size of Implants Vary with Individual Needs

There are certain risks associated with breast augmentation using silicone implants breast pain, infection, implant rupture or leakage, scar tissue which alters the contour of the breast implant, possibly permanent alterations in breast or nipple sensation, and need for further breast surgery. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) advises MRI monitoring of silicone breast implants every two years, beginning three years after the first implant surgery.

Following the surgery, the patient will probably feel sore and drowsy for one or two days. Following this period, she will be able to resume normal light activities, and will be expected to have a full recovery within a few weeks to a month. It is important that the patient follows his surgeon's instructions during the recovery period.
