British Architects & Why They Are The Best In The World

You might think Im a British Architect to make such a claim but the fact is Im not. If you need proof of my claim then you need do nothing more than open your eyes to the architecture in your community the next time you venture out.

London Has The Most Beautiful Architecture In The World

You might be thinking that this is yet another absurd claim but after making London my home for the last 35 years I think I know enough to argue my case for British Architects & Architectural Services in general.

To kick the ball off I suggest you take a look around Trafalgar Square in central London which was designed by premier architect John Nash back in the 1820s. Trafalgar square itself is covered in the finest British architecture most notably The National Gallery designed by William Wilkens. Just down the road a little you have Big Ben, designed by Edmund Beckett Denison; Sir Charles Barry drew the designs and architect Edward Pent and his son Frederick Pent built it. Dont forget that the Houses of Parliament was also the work of Sir Charles Barry who designed the building to blend in with nearby Westminster Abbey. Does Buckingham Palace Ring a bell? What about the Tower of London built about 1,000 years ago and designed by British Architects.

As we enter 2010 its plain to see that little has changed and that British Architects still dominate the skylines around the world. Take Dubai for instance and you will find the Burj Al Arab designed by Tom Wright. What about the tallest building in the world The Burj Dubai which is a supertall skyscraper completed in 2009. It is the tallest man made structure in the world and wait for it yes, it was designed by British Architect Adrian Smith working with the buildings architecture and engineering firm Skidmore.

My contention that British Architects are the best in the world is indisputable. If we go back to London and take a look at recent architectural masterpieces we have The Millennium Wheel more commonly called The London Eye. It is the tallest Ferris Wheel in Europe and was designed by British Architects David Marks, Julia Barfield, Malcolm Cook, Mark Sparrowhawk, Steven Chilton, Frank Anatole and Nic Bailey.

Move over to the City of London and we have the famous Gherkin designed by Norman Foster. What about City Hall? Again this fine example of British Architecture was created by British Architect Norman Foster. No matter which period of history we look at British Architects dominate the skylines not just in the UK but throughout the world.
