It took about 2 centuries for the British military clothing to change to something that is less obvious like the khaki during the 1800s
. Also, with the change the weapons used to firing ones that used smokeless gunpowder, the British army started realizing the advantage of clothing that matched the terrain. Today, British military clothing is much more suited to combats that take place in the contemporary conditions. Bright colours are now used only during the formal occasions like parades.
