The biggest difference between these two is the connection source as DSL features a phone line which will allow you to connect to the internet, though as you know, the connection speed can be considerably slower. 1 The Leased Line: When people purchase broadband they typically do not consider the fact that they could purchase a dedicated line. Does this make it a viable solution? Not unless you happen to be a business. If you are a business however, then you will need to look into a dedicated line whether you choose a T1 line or the more robust T3. The benefit of a dedicated line is that you will be the only one using it. In other words there will be more bandwidth and less lag.

2 High Connection: Countries such as Iceland are high up in the technology race as their country features 84% of households with internet connectivity. Australia adds 40,000 new broadband connections every month which ensures that at some point the entire world will be connected in some way shape or form.

3 Hot Spots: The Wifi hotspot is becoming quite popular as of late. Mobile broadband has been the dream of many users for a very long time, and hotspots have made that dream come true. With the wireless capability of most laptops these days, it is no surprise that many retail stores, restaurants and even cities are offering wireless broadband for those who know how to connect.

4 Satellite Broadband: Most satellite television providers will also provide some sort of internet service. While this service is not quite useful for online gaming, it can be great for basic connectivity. This is most definitely something to look into if you need to get connected fast.

These are four things that you may not have known about broadband, but as you can see, broadband internet is quickly becoming prevalent all over the world.
