Broken PS3 - Blinking Yellow Light: Simple Steps and Advice on Repairing Your Console

It's unfortunate that you are reading this article because it means your PS3 is now broken

Turn off PS3 and unplug the power cord from the back of the console, this will turn the PS3 completely off, wait for about 10 - 20 seconds and re-plug the power cable back in.

The other thing you might want to do is to check all the connections going in or out of the PS3 such as the HDMI Cables, Audio Cables. You could try to unplug them and re-plug them back in.

You can also try to take the hard drive out (power off system first) and re-insert the hard disk.

The downside is, you are responsible for the shipping cost to the Sony Repair Center and you probably have a wait a few weeks for the unit to be repaired and returned to you.
