Bronzer or Blush?

Bronzer and blush are both popular items when it comes to makeup. But choosing which one to use is confusing. They give different effects yet both enhance the natural beauty of a person. By being smart about the own skin and knowing the best products, there will be no problem.

What is your skin tone? What effect does bronzer/blush give? These questions must be answered; then choosing the right cheek makeup is easy. Blush is for the apples of the cheeks and can be played up to create the appearance of chiseled cheekbones or simply dabbed on for a rosy glow. Bronzer creates a sun kissed complexion and unlike blush, it isn't restricted to just the cheeks. Bronzer can be applied to the forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks.

Having a pail or fair skin? Blush is best to make a brighter look. Use a cream or powder blush and practice blending techniques. One must find the right shade of blush considering the color of the cheeks. It is important to apply the blush on the right area of the face to avoid looking like a Raggedy Ann doll. Blush should be applied to the "apples" of the cheeks. Look in the mirror then smile in order to locate the apples on the cheeks. In applying the blush, use gentle, sweeping motions starting at the center of the apple, and move up outwards towards the corner of the eye and up to the temple. Another thing to remember, porcelain beauties should be wary of using bronzer. This will give a very unnatural appearance. Unless planning to get tanned, stick to blush.

Bronzer

If the skin is naturally tanned or olive, a bronzer will give a better result. Bronzers comes in all forms: sticks, gels, powders ad creams. The shade of the bronzer must not be more than two tones darker than the natural skin tone. The form can vary depending on the skin type which suits a person best. A bronzer could be glittery or shimmery but it must not be overdone or else people will wonder why there is a walking statue around the neighborhood. It should enhance beauty not dominate the complexion. Use a large sized soft brush with a rounded top. If it is too small and stiff, it will give blotchy results. Synthetic brushes can tend to molt. If you are going to spend money on a brush, choose sable. Generally natural fibers are best. Using very light strokes, first apply the bronzer to the top of the forehead, working down the nose and along the cheeks. Build up the color gradually, so you get exactly the shade you want. You could also try applying a small amount to the chin.

Some people use both bronzer and blush as long as it complements with the skin tone. Darker complexions work well with bronzer to highlight features, but if you want to use blush, make sure to choose a pigment that won't get lost in your complexion. Deep roses and apricot shades look great on darker skin.

Both may have different effects but still in the end, it is up to the choice of the person whether she'll use a bronzer or a blush.
