Brooks And Dunn Tickets - It's Official, It's Over

It's officially happened

It's officially happened. Brooks and Dunn have decided to part ways. Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks announced the separation months ago and even helmed the farewell tour The Last Rodeo Tour, but for fans of "My Maria," "Boot Scootin' Boogie," "Red Dirt Road," "She's Not The Cheatin' Kind" and more, it's hard to believe that the renowned country duo will no longer be together. Taking their final bows in August, Brooks and Dunn will officially go their separate ways.

The two were prepared for the moment of tearful goodbyes, but the future solo stars will likely see success as they move on from their partnership. Pick up the final pair of Brooks and Dunn tickets from StubHub today.

These days, two decades together is an eternity. For Brooks and Dunn, it was hardly the middle of the road. The two musicians are both expected to produce solo albums following their final jaunt as a team, they said in a statement. "After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time to call it a day. This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed..." Individually, both country stars will continue to work in the industry and have even suggested collaborations down the road.

Brooks and Dunn have fans in all arenas; just ask Toby Keith. Along with the millions of fans who have seen the group tour around the globe since the '90s, aspiring country musicians have opened for the team. Keith, along with Keith Urban, Montgomery Gentry and others all have been honored as opening acts. "Kix and Ronnie asked me to open for them when I first came out in '93-'94," said Keith to The Boot. "I did some shows with them. I was the very opening act on that tour, but they always treated me really cool, and we remain friends today."

Though it's the end of an era, Brooks and Dunn songs will remain radio favorites, as classics continue to mix in with contemporary hits today. More importantly, their music long ago defined the modern country line dance and you can still hear their popular tunes at today's rodeos, country music festivals and southern dance halls.

Brooks and Dunn both came from different backgrounds. Brooks was a music star before he reached his teen years, recording with Johnny Horton's daughter and working as a songwriter in Nashville during the '80s. Dunn was an artist in several string bands, though he had hoped to one day become a Baptist minister. He loved music too much and began recording with a band in Tulsa through the '80s before being introduced to Brooks.

The collaboration began as a suggestion from Tim DuBois, who signed the group in 1990. Their debut Brand New Man featured hits like "My Next Broken Heart," "New Moon" and "Boot Scootin' Boogie," all number ones. The five million seller not only allowed the duo to continue recording for 20 more years, but instantly associated them with the contemporary approach to line-dancing.
