Browlift: Surgery Risks And Possible Complications

As we age, a browlift may be desired due to the effect that gravity has on our facial features

. While not every person will encounter the need to fix a sagging forehead and creases around this area, a lot of others feel the need for it. The procedure basically repositions the brow line and the forehead to give the patient a refreshed look. The surgeons make the incisions in discreet places to facilitate less obvious scars and better healing. Scarring may occur but these usually become less visible or noticeable as time passes.

After the procedure, there may be other complications that may occur during the recovery period. One such problem that may arise is an infection of the incisions. Although, the cuts made to facilitate the browlift are relatively small and easy to close, improper care of these cuts can result to them becoming infected. It is not only the incisions which may get infected but the inner wounds can also contract an infection. The patient should be careful in cleaning and caring for them after the operation. The surgeon usually prescribes medication and explicit instructions regarding the care for the patient.

Scarring is another complication that arises during plastic surgery of any form. The minimal incisions that are made for a browlift usually mean that there is also less scarring to be expected. For those who may develop keloidal scars, doctors often remedy these when they occur but the possibility of these occurring is minimal.
