When the long awaited futuristic sporting event of the world made its debut in India

, the design of the facility demanded nothing but the very best best in concept, best in design; and the best in execution.

The objective of the organizers was simple: provide Live sporting experience for the first time in India.

Glass with its sheer functionality proved to be an integral material for the blocks in the circuit. The main areas that called for glazing were: The Grandstand, The Pit-Stops and The Team Building blocks. The design requirements from the glazing solution were: Futuristic look, Unhindered views, Comfort (Solar/Thermal/Acoustic) and best of the LIVE experience

When the world renowned F1 Track Architects, Tilke GmbH wanted the best of the glazing materials, they naturally chose Saint-Gobain!

Saint-Gobain fully understood the needs of the Architect and advised a Glazing solution that not only addressed the design intent but also enhances the viewing experience.

The Grand stand and Pit-stops demanded unhindered views of the Track providing the viewers with an experience that would transport them to the midst of the thrilling action. All the while helping in keeping the interiors insulated from the scorching heat of North India and filtering out excess noise from the track.

Saint-Gobains SGG Nano Icy Menthol, the chosen glazing solution addressed these very needs and made a clear difference for the track. The Double Glazed glass solution with its state of the art performance parameters of lowest internal reflection of 12% (lesser than that of a clear DGU) helps enhance the viewing experience.

SGG Nano Icy Menthol is a silver coated dual advantage Solar control and Low-E glass that provides enhanced solar control, and thermal insulation. The glass solution has a lowest in its class Solar factor of 0.28 and U-value of 1.8W/sqmK providing the occupants of the building with utmost Solar and Acoustic comfort.
