Building A Deck With Home Depot
I've always wanted to have a deck in my backyard but never had the time or the money to get one built
. This summer I took the initiative of building a deck myself. I literally had zero experience when it came to deck building but I was on a mission. First, I went online to Home Depot's website to look for what I needed. After browsing for a few minutes I realized I was in over my head and I had no idea where to begin. It seemed like building a deck myself was out of the question.
Luckily I found the how-to section on the Home Depot website. I was blown away at all of the possible how-to articles and videos that they offered: from how to select air compressors to building pergolas. As expected, there was a section devoted to building a deck. By watching the video, home Depot actually walked me through every single step of building a deck from the design to the actual construction.
I ended up doing hours and hours of research on the art of deck building all right on Home Depot and I was ready to start the job. I ordered all of the tools I needed right on their website because I was already so familiar with their site and their prices only solidified my decision further. Everything arrived right on my doorstep in a few short days and I was ready to begin my long awaited project of building a deck. But before I began I followed the advice of home depot by getting my building site inspected first so there weren't any legal problems in the future. Completing that step was something imperative that I likely would've overlooked. Once I received my permit, I began the long awaited building process.
I went with the synthetic deck materials because I'm not a big fan of maintenance. They did cost a bit more the price was definitely worth it. It looks great with no sign of any problems to come. Also be sure to purchase some metal connections to bridge the deck pieces because just using nails might not be enough, I'd much rather be safe than sorry in the long run. Everything else was very straightforward with little to no problems. I completed my entire deck in less than two weeks.
Home Depot has helped me through my entire deck building process singlehandedly and I don't know how botched my deck would be without them. I'm extremely happy that I decided to build my own deck because of the amount of money I saved. I saved much more than just labor costs; Home Depot offered the best prices for all of the materials and tools I used. I saved even more money by looking out for discounts that Home Depot offers on their huge collection of power tools. Did I also mention the couple hundred pounds of tools and materials needed I used for my deck shipped completely free. I managed to find a free shipping coupon that allowed me to save a ton of money on shipping. So be on the look out for
Home Depot coupon codes at all times when you plan on doing a big job like building a deck. There's no better place than Home Depot for my deck building needs. I got a bunch of great savings and a beautifully built deck right in my backyard.
