Building Enhancements Often Include Artistic Expressions
Art is a tangible physical expression of human beings through creative activities
that are meant to be attractive or appealing or perhaps only thought provoking to others. The question of what is art is completely subjective. There some creative expressions that become profitable or popular but whose value is not appreciated in the least by others. Examples of art can be a building, sculpture, painting, music or literature, and different people's tastes and opinion determine what they see as what is "good" art.
Art as it is most commonly used in the home or office is as a decoration, but people also express themselves through the art they display in their homes. There are also ways to perpetuate a design through an art piece. If your home is very modern with
silhouette blinds, the art will likely follow suit, and reflect the modern vibe. If you love country French dcor, prints from Monet would nicely complement your furnishings. The way the art is displayed can also be directed by the style of the home. Spot lights in a modern home, shadow boxes with keepsakes in a den in a typical family home.
Art is often used as a way to express a mood or vibe of a room or office space. There are artists that specialize in large-scale sculptures and paintings that are used in massively scaled skyscrapers, and they are paid fairly well for their skills. There are also usually paintings in a doctor's office, with calming landscapes to capture a nervous patient's attention. There are also artists that create custom murals in people's homes, in their children's rooms, and in nurseries. Murals are also often found in pediatrician's offices and elementary schools. This kind of art in supposed to inspire creativity in the children.
Art is meant to create a reaction, and usually the response is supposed to be a positive one. There are paintings that hang in museums that are so well known and loved that they have become priceless works of art. There are also paintings that are controversial in the art world that are also unbelievably successful.
In 2006, a drip painting called No. 5, painted in 1948 by the artist Jackson Pollack was sold for $140 million American dollars. That made it the most expensive painting ever sold at the time. Jackson Pollack was an American painter and one of the most influential members of the abstract expressionism movement.
Though he went through several different artistic periods, Pollack's drip paintings are ones that he created by pouring, splattering and dripping paint onto a very large canvas that was placed flat on the floor. He was considered a genius in many circles and many others simply do not understand why it is called art. This argument is what actually makes it good.
