Building Pecs - Build Your Pectorals Fast - Explosive Workout!

If you are reading this, my guess is that you are looking to build chest muscles, but more importantly you want to get big pecs. In layman's terms or those not used to gym talk, pecs are just the scientific name for your chest, short for pectoral muscles.

Aside from big arms, there's no desire among aspiring underweight muscle building enthusiasts that quite outdoes the longing for a big, well-developed chest. And why not; big pectorals command respect. They're somehow primitively associated with courage and assertiveness. When you have pectoral muscles that only slightly protrude beyond your abdominal section, you're considered to be "in shape".

What's more, in a world of male competitiveness where one's height seems to unfairly monopolize the aura of dominating physical stature, powerful pectorals can be a great equalizer. They tell the world that regardless of the level your genetics had you lengthened, you're packaged physical prowess by choice. You exude strength and athleticism with well developed pectorals.

One of the keys to building a well defined and muscular chest is that you need to work at it from all angles. Flat Bench Presses, Incline Bench Presses, Decline Presses hit the chest from all three angles. These are the big three in chest training which most people will do with barbells but don't discount dumbells which give you a greater range of motion and bring more muscle fibers into play.

We have decided to work on building our Pecs so now what? First define your goals are you after a Bodybuilder physique to try and get as big as you can? or are you looking to just add a little muscle and definition? Once we define our goals we need to devise a plan.

Before you do these exercises make sure you stretch. Stretching prevent injury, lengthens your muscle and makes them more flexible. Stand in a doorway with your hands on each wall and dip your body forward to stretch out your arms and chest, hold for a half a minute. There are many other stretches that should be done before a workout; this one is for your chest muscles. Do not forget to stretch the rest of your body.

Most people when training chest jump right into the flat barbell Bench Press also known as the king of upper body exercises. This is not necessarily bad because it will pack on the most muscle the fastest, but remember when I talked about working the angles? The Incline bench is just as important as it primarily hits your upper chest. Why is this important? Take off your shirt go look in the mirror turn sideways look at your chest which muscles will lift your chest up to really be noticed? The upper Pecs right?

So how do we set up our chest workout? I work on Building my Pecs twice a week 3-4 exercises 4-5 sets in a 4-12 rep range. To build muscle the 8-12 rep range is paramount 4-8 is best for building strength. My first Chest workout of the week typically Monday I lead off with Barbell Bench Presses followed by Barbell incline Presses and finish with Decline Barbell Presses this is my heavy day. After a good warm-up I jump in and blast away.

My second chest workout of the week typically Friday I mix it up a little I lead off with Incline Barbell Presses next I do either Barbell or Dumbell Flat Presses and then finish off with Dumbell Incline Presses or Flyes and sometimes I superset the last two Dumbell exercises. This is my lighter day my weights tend to be a little lower and I keep my rep ranges a little higher.

Breathing is and important part of working out. Do not hold your breath during any exercise. Exhaling is usually done during the hardest part of the exercise, pressing up a barbell for example. Then take a big inhale before your next repetition. A few ways to build chest muscle have been listed. Many body builders say they get a routine going and they have their favorite exercises. Great pec muscles will develop with these exercises but do not forget to stretch before and after the exercise.About the Author:
