Building Professional Relationship Using Twitter And Linkedin
1. Contact with authors of the content.
1. Contact with authors of the content.
First, you need to identify the experts in your field or in what youre reading about. If you can identify these people youll definitely have an opportunity to have a great conversation with them. Blogs or websites are the first places to look for specific information or article about something you want to read about. Jump to Author Bio and see who wrote this content and a brief description about them. Usually, writers are active on their social media channels where you can talk about what they wrote. Just follow their accounts on Facebook or Twitter, and let them know your feedback about what you have read in their blogs. You may tweet them with some compliments about their writings and express useful ideas of your own.
2. Start writing as an Author.
Writing on a specific topic that you like is the best way to start having conversation with people who are interested in the same field youre writing about. You may start writing on an industry publication or on a blog. Now youll get two benefits: sharing and discussing what you wrote on the social media, and youll be contacting people who will be commenting, sharing ideas and thoughts of their own.
Dont write about something that you dont know anything about, just stick to the information you already know. Focus on a question that youre being asked many times and write about it. You wont believe yourself when you see how much you want to say the moment you get started.
3. Twitter keyword research.
Twitter is a great source of information and the noisiest place online. Use it to find people, filter tweets and join conversations after searching for the keywords that are related to your topic. For example, if youre working on SEO then Page Rank could be one of the keywords you may be looking for.
Getting a keyword which is relevant to what youre looking for needs some research. Search with different queries until you get the best. Give feedback or comments to people and reply to their tweets. If someone shared an article, you can comment by agreeing or disagreeing with it and you need to mention why.
4. Join LinkedIn groups.
LinkedIn groups are great for discussions; usually group members ask questions, share articles and make online conversations with each other. Search in groups section for groups related to your field and youll get tons of results. Before you request to join, make sure this group is likely to interact with you and it fits your goals. For example If youre interested in social media marketing, internet marketing groups are not likely to be joined because its more general than what you want.
5. Connect with users who have viewed your profile.
LinkedIn keeps a list of users who just viewed your profile lately and you may take a look once a week to know what kind of people profiles visited you. Do these accounts belong to recruiters? Or to users with common interests same as yours? Try to have a conversation with them to know why you had their attention to view your profile. Eventually, youll form a professional relationship with these people within your field.
