Building Your Body One Movement at a Time

Building Your Body One Movement at a Time

No matter how healthy you are, you have probably thought "I need to be healthier" at least once in your life. We all feel like we need to exercise more or eat better or make better choices when it comes to our health. When you think about things like this it is important that you take action. If you really do want to get healthy you need to take steps to make that happen. It is equally important that you realize that fitness also involves your brain (not just your body). Keeping that in mind, here are some things you can do to build your overall fitness.

Your entire body needs to be worked on. Don't take advice from people who try to tell you that the only parts of your body that need focus are the parts you do not currently like. If you truly want to improve your body you will need to exercise your whole body and its systems. You will need to train in endurance, strength and cardiovascular systems. You will need to exercise all of your muscle systems if you want your body to get truly healthy. If you only work on a two or three muscles at a time you will only build up those muscles and feel bigger and bulkier than you did before.

Remember that fat cells weigh less than muscle cells. You need to remember this fact especially if your primary goal is weight loss.

If you work out regularly and eat a balanced and healthy diet it is entirely possible that you will lose inches off of your waistline but not lose any of your weight. This happens because the fat cells shrink at the same time that your muscles get bigger and stronger. Pay attention to your measurements as you work on your fitness. You might find that the size of your clothing is shrinking while the numbers on the scale don't change much at all. Keep these facts in mind so that you don't let yourself get discouraged or disappointed by the apparent lack of success after all of your hard work.

Start slowly and gradually build something more involved. New athletes and exercisers are rarely able to run ten miles right away. Nobody is able to lift a hundred pounds if they haven't ever done weight lifting before. Begin with simple and slow exercises and gradually build the intensity of your workout. If you try to do too much too soon you could end up injuring yourself. You could do serious damage to your body if you push it too far. Physical trainers, doctors and physical therapists are all great sources of support when you need help building a fitness routine.

Sometimes getting fit seems very difficult but it does not have to be that way! If you are willing to be patient and work hard there isn't any reason you shouldn't be able to achieve fitness.
