Building Your Wealth
You've found fulfillment professionally, you have a great career and a career path you are more than happy with. With a bit of trial and error, you have managed to find a company you can grow with. It is now time to put some thought into wealth building.
It's always good to plan for the long term future, especially if you have the luxury of having spare resources. Retirement may be far off, but you never know what the future holds.
The most important thing to remember when saving up for you long term future is to live within your means. If you spend less than you make, you can avoid debt, and maybe even put aside something for your future.
Most financial gurus will advise that you start putting away at least 10% of you monthly income as soon as you can afford to. Once you have set aside enough, you should then start investing in stocks, bonds, CDs or other conservative investments that will make you money work for you.
You could of course take your money and play the stock market. This is not a passive investment though, while it is true that you can make a lot of money fast, you can also lose it just as quickly, especially if you don't really know what you're doing. Wealth building is more about reaching your goals slowly but surely. The best way to do that is a diversified portfolio of conservative investments. With such a portfolio, you can pretty much leave your money to grow and just check on the progress from time to time. When the time comes, you will be pleasantly surprised at how much you have put away.
