Every day, thousands of blogs are created. People use Blogger.com or WordPress. These are the 2 biggest blog builders. Wordpress seems to be the most appreciated because you can add so many plug ins.

But, each software has its little problems and WordPress does get, at least, one. The problem is very simple, but can cause some unpleasant results. It's about ''pinging''. When you save a new post or you are editing and saving a former post, every time, what ever the reason, you click on the ''save'' button, wordPress ''pings'' the new results.

First, what does ''ping'' means? Here is the definition from Wiki.answers.com (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_ping_mean_in_computer_terminology)

''The TCP/IP service that lets you check to verify that you can reach another network node from your local host. Ping is usually a quick test to ensure that your connection is valid. The command will return the time in milliseconds that a packet takes to make the round trip from your local host to the remote host.''

The unnecessary and undesired pings can make you get tagged as a ping spammer and have your blog terminated. This could, could only, happen if you post frequently each day or edit and re-edit a post continuously. Normal bloggers will post every other day while heavy bloggers will post twice or three times a day.

There is nothing to be afraid of, but to secure yourself (to play it safe), all you have to do to resolve this problem is to download and install a small plug in: ''CBNET Ping Optimizer''. This little plug in will ping the first save of your post and will stop subsequent pings if you re-save three, four or five time the same post.

This is the beauty of plug ins, you download, install, activate and forget. Remember to check your blog next time you log in your admin area. Click 'plug ins/add new. In the search box, type CBNET Ping Optimizer and click search.

The first result should be it. As said earlier, download, install activate and forget.
