When looking for a suitable location to build your wooden garage, it should be close to your residence. If you don't have enough space in your home then find one that is close by and easy to access. Of course, before they allow you to build a garage, you need to secure permission. In an urban area, rules and regulations are necessary. These should be met so that you can build your garage. Take note that they can easily tear down your garage if you just built it illegally. Aside from being a waste of time, you also wasted valuable, hard-earned money.

The best location for a wooden garage is one that has a straight path towards a road or a driveway. Take your time in trying to determine where you will put your garage. You also need to know if there are electrical, gas, sewer or water lines in that specific area.

Laying the foundation.

To lay the foundation for your garage, you may need to rent a bulldozer and even survey equipment. What you need to do is to measure the space you need and dig down in order to create a level surface. It should have the required dimensions, in order to make a foundation for your garage.

Using the survey equipment, check if it is as close to level as possible. Afterwards, install the boards around the base and the perimeter. Then create a box that can hold concrete. Last but not the least, pour down a layer of gravel before you arrange the concrete which you need to pour.

Framing the garage.

For this task, you can make use of prefabricated walls or wood to make the structure. You can hire some help to do this so that the work can move faster. With enough help, make a large mark on the floor to determine where the garage doors ought to be.
