Bulking Up And Training Your Mind To Succeed

I got on the train the other day and I looked around me at my fellow passengers

. I have a habbit of people watching, it's actually really quite enjoyable just to sit back and watch life pass before you. Anyhow, I was thinking to myself how many of them were just happy to be the average Joe.

One of my favourite pastimes is reading biographies of famous people that I aspire to. What's quite remarkable amongst each and every one of the stories that I have read is the journey to get to "success" was far from simple. They had rollercoaster journeys like you wouldn't believe, with trials and tribulations that would test any individual and push them to the limit. The one consistent attribute that all successful people have is shear belligerence that you just don't find in average joe people. They are inspired to achieve something and therefore go and put everything they have into achieving it. I admire these people, and I model myself on them.

It may appear that I have digressed from the subject matter somewhat, but the point I'm actually trying to make is that you have to do something different, something above and beyond the average if you are going to stand out from the crowd. This doesn't just apply to bodybuilding, this applies to all walks of life. You get out what you put in and if your inspiration is to build a better physique then put everthing into it and make it happen.

Now, I don't mean go nuts in the gym. Putting everything into it doesn't necessarily mean doing drop sets every day of the week until you're sick at the end of the workout. You need to work cleverly and hard, not just the latter. You're most valuable asset in any part of life is your head, so use it. Knowledge is power. The reason you're not gaining weight or making as much progress in the gym as you could be is because you haven't spent enough time reading and understanding the theory behind what you are trying to achieve.

The best workout you can possibly do involves three days a week in the gym and 7 days a week reading about what you're doing in the gym. You need to understand the reasons why your body grows, what it needs to grow and how it responds to certain stimulae.

You are free to leave my advice if you see fit but I recommend you take note because I've been in a place where progress was non-existant - even for a period of years. My lack of knowledge hindered me, but because I had shear belligerence and determination to get what I set out to achieve, I found a way of getting there. And I can tell you now, the way to get there is to learn and apply.

Choose your sources wisely as there is a lot of rubbish out there on the internet, especially when it comes to weightlifting and bodybuilding. Use your common sense, learn from the experts.

Good luck with your weightlifting!
