The fact is that it is perfectly legal for companies to provide the software needed to actually burn the games. As well, it is perfectly legal for you to actually burn the games as long as you are doing it only to make back up copies.

But doesn't this open the door to crooks, thieves and derelicts to also start burning games for Xbox 360?

You and I both know that there are unscrupulous people out there that are going to use this software to burn hundreds if not thousands of copied to benefit their own greedy desires. They are going to sale them on the internet or at swap meets to unsuspecting, and possibly even suspecting customers. They are going to pocket the money and move on to the steal the next game.

If you think about the repercussion this could have then you are are probably realizing something very obvious here. If the actual game makers do not make the profits on the games, then how are they going to be able to make new games?

It's not the thieves that sit for hundreds of hours programing our games. It is the game designers, programers and production companies that release the titles. So this goes even further not only are these people stealing the game they are possibly stealing the lively hood of a whole group of people that helped create the game in the first place.

The positive side of this is that we are not all thieves. Luckily there are more of out there that appreciate great video games and we understand that a company needs profits to continue producing new games. Sure we may not enjoy dishing out up to sixty bucks for a game, but we do enjoy the hours of entertainment that is provided once the game is home and in the machine.

Burnign games for Xbox 360 is in deed actually a good idea for you an me. We did just dish out our hard earned money for a new game and one little scratch could completely ruin the disc. One little slip and the game could be rendered completely useless.

So long as you are just backing up your games for personal use there is nothing wrong with burning your games. One great idea is to actually use the burned copy of the game for daily use. That way if the disc gets damaged the original can still be sitting in the box ready to go.

Let's all be honest and make sure that we do not give away, sell or distribute burnt games. That way we can expect more great games in the future. But lets also protect our games and protect our investment and back up our video game collection by burning games for Xbox 360.
