High Definition matters, especially when you are plugging it to a HD set-top box. Bigger resolution and higher definition equals to a pleasant view.

Media and Ports: If its modern that you are looking for, make sure that your LCD supports the desired ports and devices. For example, HDMI, USB, Games, etc. Some even support SD Cards and double USB share. PC and other gadgets are essentials too. Some LCDs are nowadays equipped with built-in media players. Make sure it supports formats like AVI/MKV/WMV/ASF/MP4/FLV/3GPP/MP3/AAC/WMA, JPEG, etc.

Speakers: If you want to go easy on the budget and still want a built-in sound system, then you need not to worry. LCD TVs do comes with speakers. What you should be looking for is a good watt for the speakers. Add a few more dimes and you may get yourself a Dolby Digital one.
