When you need to constantly carry a laptop, paperwork, files, and even additional electronic and communication gear such as portable printers or scanners, this type of briefcase can be the perfect answer for anyone.

One style that is common with the young women now can be worn as a backpack, a shoulder bag, or the long adjustable silver handle can be extended and it can turn into a rolling briefcase.

Leather has always been considered to be a durable material for any kind of briefcase. However, leather does tend scratch and is severely affected by bad weather. Anyone who lives in a climate that experiences rain and snow can attest to the fact that water spots can ruin leather of any grade.

A few companies manufacture what is called "security ready" cases for frequent travelers. Rather than being forced to remove your laptop and other items from your briefcase, these are made to open flat and are easily placed on the conveyor belt as you pass through the security screening system.

Frequent travelers are now buying what is considered to be a security ready type of briefcase. Rather than removing electronic devices for detailed inspections, these briefcases are made so that they will flat, like a notebook, and can be fully examined going through the security checkpoint without needing to remove anything.
