Buying Golf Cart-some Info

Owning a golf cart is just like owning a car

Owning a golf cart is just like owning a car. Buying a cart is a golfers pride rather than renting it for huge fees. Its always better to own a golf cart either used or new, since the clubs upgrade their fleet rates every year. Fewer things that need to be taken under consideration on purchase of golf carts are discussed below.

The first and foremost thing the golfer should keep in mind before owning the cart is its storage location. Ensure that you have enough room to lodge the cart you are planning to buy. You can either store in garage or in a building especially built for the cart. Always try to keep an individual key rather than the universal key that comes from the company for safety reasons.

Of course, buying a used cart is an economical choice. While buying a used car, do check for signs of rust or damages in both inside and outside areas. Also, ask for test drive and ensure that the cart stops within space of 10-15 feet without sliding and have a close examination of what all parts are replaced or repaired. The golfer has the freedom to choose extra fittings like safety equipments, upholstery and the like. Certainly, these extras will cost more but still it fits inside the budget.

If purchasing a new golf cart, among the two types: gas and electric powered, make a right decision that best suits to your needs. When compared to gasoline powered, electric carts can be easily maintained and least expensive, noiseless and non pollutant. The electric carts are light weight and runs in batteries; hence care must be given to recharge the batteries before it is completely off. If battery is left low without charging it wont last long and the drained batteries will be damaged within a short span. The branded batteries are expensive also. Therefore never let the batteries run out of charge if planning to buy an electric golf cart.

Buying used or new golf cart is not a big deal, but maintaining the cart is more important. The golfer must plan a regular maintenance chart for cleaning, recharging the battery and its water level checkups, tightening the cable connectors. Apart from this weekly maintenance he should also take the vehicle to perform its regular service in order to keep the cart in good working condition and to improve the life span of the cart.

Keeping all the above tips in mind be sure to know the major specifications of the golf cart planning to buy. The golfer must always have an idea of what he is looking at, and going to buy in order to get a good deal. Once bought always perform the regular maintenance and service which reduces the maintenance cost and improves the life span of the cart.
