CAD Drafter

The CAD drafter is one who uses computer aided drafting or computer aided design software. These CAD technicians create CAD drawings, CAD design, 3D cad models, cad cam, 3d cad, isometric drawing, cad graphics, engineering drawing, working drawings, dwg drawings, and concept design to create 3D CAD models. The 3D models can be used to create anything from the Space Shuttle and all it's components to a Harley Davidson.

The CAD drafter varies from field to field sometimes it's in Architecture, with Architectural Engineering or sometimes the CAD drafter could be working on something like a prototype, or conceptual design. No matter what field the CAD drafter has a very basic role and that's to design what's at hand. This is usually done with specific CAD software that is created solely for the purpose of an architect, or for mechanical designs.

3D CAD models are more or less a 3D image in an environment that allows the CAD drafter to manipulate things as fillets, rounds, holes, and other design aspects to a 3D model that represents a solid object. These 3D models can be used in almost any field and in most cases are. A lot of 3D modeling is used for things such as mechanical engineering drawings and things of that nature. 3D models are being used more in CAD software for architecture, and structural drawings.

CAD drafting is the future of design no matter how you look at it. The days of slaving over a drafting table, or drafting board are finally over. The CAD drafter can perform all the same task within a fraction of the time, and with way more accuracy than the old way of simply drafting. I mean the new CAD software available can be more precise than a thousandth of a millimeter, and that is not too bad.
