CHRIST THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as the only begotten of the father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)

The writer of the gospel according to John presents Jesus as the eternal Word of God who came in the form of a human being, dwelt among us and came to save all mankind. Now that the atmosphere has changed due to the celebration, Christmas light twinkling all about and carol songs offering a sweet melody to the soul as we celebrate the day our Lord is born, let's not forget or get carried away by the festive mood the reason and message this day is passing across to we saints in Christ Jesus. Many do think in the Christendom today that Christmas day is for jamboree all through; whereas they themselves have deafened their ears to the voice of God and the message He is passing across to each and everyone of us. God doesn't want us to perish or be subjected to destruction that will soon hit the universe. God is giving us a one way ticket to eternal bliss and prosperity which can only be obtained through Jesus Christ, who thousands of years ago came into this world to save us from eternal damnation. The popular verse in the bible which is John 3:16 are counted by most Christians as saying sake' proclamation by the writer of the gospel according to John. This verse has in depth of spiritual wealth, history surrounding it. It says,

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (NKJV).

This shows that God loves me and you, a great love that lips cannot express. That is why the scripture used "so loved" and other versions have the phrase "so much..." to buttress this point of God's love for mankind. The world is at the risk of sinking away and fading out of existence and God doesn't want us to fade away with the world. According to this verse, the creator of all things wants you to have "eternal life" and this can be given to those who believe in His Son He sent into the world for our sake. Why is God offering us immortality? When man fell in Eden, the whole creation was subjected to condemnation but Christ came that we might not be trampled upon by this condemnation of death. If whoever believes in Jesus will obtain immortality, what will those who despised Him will get? Your guess is as good as mine; they will obtain nothing but death, not only in the physical but another one which the bible refers to as the second death (see Rev. 20:13-14). John 3:36 confirms this by saying,

"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on him."

But someone may ask: How is it possible for God to come in the flesh of a man? This was one of the prominent questions that ran through the minds of people who lived during the time of Jesus. Is he the messiah? Is he the Son of God as he claims to be? Most of them were confused and doubted His identity but yet, some people still believed in Him. This has been one of the major arguments and strife found in Christendom today. They do ask, "Is it possible for God to be three in one? That must be a misconception and false doctrine." That is the conclusion most drawn in their mind but I want you to know that it is hundred percent possible. God once said in the scripture that my ways are not your ways or His thoughts our thoughts and as far as heaven is to earth, so are His ways to ours. Why do you neglect the fact with God all things are possible: Not few things but all things which also involve dividing Himself into three. Someone once said to me that the issue of Trinity is a false doctrine and I also met another one who says for God to come in flesh is not possible and Jesus is like any other messenger like John, Paul etc. I was perplexed at this and immediately I perceived that these two talked with carnal knowledge. I want you to know that the father is God; the Son is God, the Holy Spirit is God. Blasphemy? Absolutely no because God is like asking this question from us,

"Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?" (Jeremiah 32:27).

To those who doubt the issue of trinity, have you ever come across 1 John 5:7? It says,

"For there are three who bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one."

Using carnal knowledge to examine spiritual things will only lead you to the island of nowhere and bound you in the shackles of ignorance. It takes a man of the spirit to understand mysteries of the heavenly world whom God has granted the privilege of the spirit of understanding. In Hebrews 1:8 states:

But to the son He says: Your throne, O God is forever and ever; a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of Your kingdom.

God the Father is calling the Son God' and this similarity can also be seen in Psalm 110 vs. 1. God's ways are mysterious and awesome and cannot be perceived if using human understanding. This one way He chose to save mankind is overwhelming and miraculous. Jesus, the Son of God came in the flesh to save we hopeless humans by giving us hope and by succeeding where the first Adam failed that we might be successful. It is not easy for the Father to release His Son to come into the world but because His love for us despite our failures is great, He allowed His only begotten to come and save humanity. It is like a separation and do you know that the power that makes it possible for Jesus to come in the flesh is not the same as the power which created the world. It is much more powerful, just as complicated as that of the power of resurrection. For the creator to come in the form of the creature is not a child's play. Jesus humbled himself, leaving all the glory and His divine nature so as to free us from the bondage of sin and the prison of Principalities and Power, Spiritual wickedness in high places. Now, His grace and truth is available for us in abundance, don't abuse it. Learn from the Master Himself; imagine such great humility of our Lord neglecting all the worship of angels, glory to come into this dark world. Be humble and you will learn about God. Humility is one of the virtues to conquer the kingdom of darkness. When you lack humility, it is easy for you to drift to the path of the dark side and be like the world itself.

Celebrate this Christmas with joy, happiness along with reflection. May the good grace of our Lord Jesus be with you all. Merry Xmas!
