CHROMEO HOT MESS REMIX by Sonic Soul. Beatport joins forces with Chromeo to find the perfect remix to one of the biggest tracks of the year HOT MESS by Chromeo.

Nu disco act and northern funk desciples Sonic Soul have made added their disco magic to the Chromeo smash. Fans of both Chromeo and Sonic Soul can vote on the track on the Beatport website.

The Chromeo Hot Mess remix competition has had hundreds of entries on Beatport from budding djs and producers across the globe, all fighting for the chance to have thier version released by on Tiga's Turbo Records. Sonic Soul remix of Chromeo's Hot Mess is certainly a strong contender with its nu disco synths and funky basslines giving it that lick of Sonic Soul varnish from top to bottom. From all contest entries, Turbo Recordings A&R crew will select their 5 favorite selections; these, along with the 5 top-spun remixes, will go on to a select panel of pro DJs and producers (yet to be named), who will determine the grand-prize winner. The winning remix will be released on Tigas Turbo Recordings, and the producer of the winning remix will also take home a massive prize package of DJ equipment.

Talking about the Chromeo Hot Mess Remix, Sonic Soul said "We are so happy to have had the chance to remix 'Hot Mess' by Chromeo. We absolutely love the original and jumped at the chance to make our own remix. Writing the music for the Hot Mess remix we strived to bring out the melodic side of the vocals, bringing higher focus to the often overlooked lyrics. Without a doubt we knew we wanted to make it funky as well!"

There are lots of great remix entries on the Beatport site but the Chromeo Hot Mess Sonic Soul remix has to be a strong contender. Aside from the vocals only one sample from the original has been used. The nu disco act wrote the music to suit the desperate/hopeful undercurrent of the lyrics. The fresh nu disco synths and funky basslines make this an absolute killer track, and it is sure to finds its way onto dance floors soon.
