A CPAP machine (continuous positive airway pressure machine) is a device that gives

respiratory ventilation to people suffering from sleep apnea or other types of breathing difficulties. BiPAp machine is usually used to treat sleep apnea in children. This applies to children suffering from collapsible airways, small lung volumes or muscle weakness.

The most important component of a CPAP machine is the air container. The air inside the container is maintained at a constant level. The air is pumped through a thin tube to a tight fitting mask worn over the nose. The air builds a pressure within the mask and pushes it into the nostrils, thus regaining the breathing process automatically whenever the patient get sleep apnea attacks. Masks for CPAP machine are available in different forms. There are full-face masks, CPAP nasal masks, nasal pillows. The nasal pillows are the most compact because they are designed to have the least contact with the face.
