On 17th August taketwo went to Caf des Amis to try out some of the fantastic food they have to offer

. The restaurant is situated right in the heart of Covent Garden offering the very best and seasonal French cuisine for over 25 years. Caf des Amis combines intimacy, class, and sophistication, together with a warm and welcoming service. The newly appointed Chef Fabrice Renou trained at La Tour d'Argent and worked at many famous Parisian spots, such as Buddha Bar, l'Avenue and Dedians Dehors.

Fabrice's innovative cuisine combines French tradition with world food, thus creating a great range of seasonal dishes that emphasises the quality and simplicity. Caf des Amis is the perfect setting for business lunches, romantic dinners, pre or post theatre meals or a leisurely catch up between with friends. The restaurant provides fabulous French food to satisfy anyone's pallet.

During the day the restaurant is popular with local business executives surrounded by matinee goers and shoppers. Towards the evening the caf comes to life as it lights up with theatre and opera goers or couples embarking on a romantic meal out. The wine and champagne bar has a warm atmosphere with crystal drop lighting and dark velvet seating. Executive Chef Fabrice Renou uses the best, French and international ingredients to create some fantastic tasting dishes.

Fabrice's ability to mix world-class food to classical recipes is reflected in his black tiger prawns tempura, pepper antipasti that could easily be followed by pan-filled fillet of red mullet "petite semoule" for an exclusive combination of Mediterranean, Asian and oriental flavours. Fabrice revisits traditional French duck recipes with rolled pressed duck breast, foie gras, artichoke, hazelnuts, and truffle dressing. Or alternatively, there's roast duck breast, honey and soy sauce, red cabbage with pancetta and granny smith.
