California Plaintiff Sues Depuy Orthopedics Over Hip Implant

In a latest hip implant lawsuit a plaintiff from California sues DePuy Orthopedics for negligence

, defective product, and concealment of relevant information to the patients and other stakeholders. The lawsuit was filed on 19 October 2012 in the superior court of Los-Angeles County and the plaintiff was named as Bruce Pearn. The defendants in the lawsuit were named as DePuy Orthopedics, Johnson & Johnson, and other related parties.

In the lawsuit lodged by the plaintiff and his hip implant attorney it was said that the plaintiff suffered metal poisoning (metallosis) due to the DePuy hip implant. He also argued that the mobility of his hip was hindered due to the hip implant and he had suffered much physical and mental distress. In the lawsuit it was reported that the possible reasons for mobility hindrance could be the increased level of cobalt and ions in his blood. The plaintiff and his hip implant lawyer believe that the DePuy ASR implant might have loosened from his acetabulum and created the metallic debris.
