Because of global recession which significantly affected the economy of US, the call center industry of the Philippines have also taken a huge downturn, particularly because majority of outsourcing industry's revenue comes from the US.

Because of this, many call center agencies in the Philippines have closed down, particularly the smaller agencies. This resulted in a large-scale unemployment as well as significant changes in the call center industry of the country. Part of the changes include its requirements as well as recruitment processes.

Changes in requirements and recruitment processes
