Besides darting from air-conditioned shopping malls and gazing up at all the amazing
building going up in Dubai, we also got to do some fun activities on the deserts of Dubai. We spent around $39 per head and booked the evening desert safari tour with One World Travels. It is one of the best desert safaris to spend a lazy evening with picturesque sunset as a backdrop!
It's a 5 hour safari and One World Travels picked us from our hotel in a white Toyota land cruiser. As soon as we entered the deserts of Dubai we were spell bounded with the mysterious beauty of the dusk. It was quite tranquil and we spent the evening doing some adventures on deserts. The best was camel safari in Dubai; it was a slow ride on big camel! Ours camel name was Sheila and she was friendly and tame. The scenic view of vegetations and the beautiful sunset while sitting on the back of camel was an unforgettable experience. The best part of this ride was we had a camel racing with the fellow tourists and guess what, we won! It was quite fascinating while getting off from her bumpy back. First her front legs go down and you are thrown forward like on a carnival ride, then her hind quarters go down and you can climb off to low ground. After an hour of this we headed to the authentic Bedouin camp where we had some succulent barbequed chicken and beef. The evening ended with a belly dancer whose hips certainly "didn't lie". It was great fun and the weather was so wonderful once the sun went downit was just delightful. I, of course, was in awe of the thousands of stars twinkling above just amazing and probably a highlight of our time in dream-world Dubai.
