Cameras incorporated into mobile phones are rarely lauded as fit for the job. Certainly I, myself, have always considered them a convenience rather than a capability. Now, at last, there is a flash to be used in lower light situations. Again, functional and enhancing, rather than powerful and studio quality.
Other enhancements include the ability to take self portraits by means of the additional lens mounted on the front of the phone. No more guessing where you are in the frame. I like this functionality. There is also the ability to autofocus a certain component of the image by tapping the screen in that area. Useful.
As if all this wasn't enough, there are many iPhone applications available from Apple's iTunes store to further manipulate and change the images as you are taking them or afterwards. There are also iPhone apps that will help you organize the images, categorise them and interact with other programs.
The best bit, for me at least, of any camera phone is the ability to take the resulting image and not only save it to the phone itself but also send it to social media sites. So, with just a few clicks, I can take an image, tag it, caption it and upload it to sites such as Twitter and Facebook. I can even upload it to my blog. This is so powerful.
The iPhone 4 gives added functionality, in respect of the inbuilt camera, than its predecessors. This enhanced use makes it not only a fun camera but also one that can produce images that are clear,
