Camp Koinonia Is A Gret Place To Get Energized!

With multiple visits to Camp Koinonia under my belt I have to say that it really is a excellent spot to go and enjoy in group settings

. The accommodations, while not being hotel first-class make a down-to-earth lodging occasion. The camp is owned and operated by The Oregon-Washington District Church of the Brethren.

The events hosting areas contain over one hundred acres, accommodations for approximately one hundred and sixty people, A great lodge with space for one hundred and twenty five persons, a well equipped kitchen, eight multi-person cabins, a conference building, twenty four RV sites with electric services, a thirty person yurt type chapel, a dog sled camp, corral spaces for horses, and out door cooking equipment.

Camp Koinonia has it all, quiet beauty that is unrivaled. If you have passion for the snow it is superb place for a group winter escape. You'll be able to run dog sleds, enjoy hiking on the surrounding trails, and nearby skiing can be savored.

Typically, any type youth or adult function are easily sustained at the site. With numerous indoor facilities so that functions can go on rain, snow and shine.

Historically the property was procured in 1958. The Heritage Cabin number two was the first lodge to be set up. The lodge was added in 1962 with more cabins being included in 1975 that have all been remodeled or added to also.

Supplementary buildings such as the retreat center and leadership cabins were added. Since the late sixties. In 2005 a completely new set of four cabins were added. Plans are set up for the addition of a swimming feature and a much larger building to accommodate sessions.

The Camp Koinonia experience is really great and energizing. I observed and partook in, dogs sledding, cross country skiing, hiking, snow sledding, and playing football in the snow. One thing that truly got me was the tremendous quiet atmosphere when just hanging out for a little alone time. You could even hear a pin drop in fact.

Camp Koinonia is easily accessible for the duration of all of the seasons.
