Sun protection is important is also a requirement we need to take ona camp trip, especially for light haired kids or adults because they burn easier. It's advisable to use a high factor sun lotion to be safe. Over recent years we have seen news about the risks attached to UV rays and how we should protect ourselves from the sun. If you have ever had sun burn and suffered the discomfort during a nights sleep, imagine this inside a tent for the night.
Wearing light clothing will reflect the sun compared to dark clothing that absorbs. Any kind of hat will add protection from the sunfor the head that is advised .
Keeping ourselves out of the sun at certain times of the day and drinking plenty of fluids will prevent dehydration.
Campfire Safety
Knowing how to build a good campfire is helpful, whilst allowing plenty of room from the camping tent and any other flammable gear, when building the fire. Check if campfires are allowed; Some areas fires are forbidden to protect the forests and wildlife.
Kids find fires enchanting and need support and guidance whilst the fire is lit. You may find the children can enjoy campfires if you involve them with the collecting of wood and teaching them how and why we play it safe, when making a campfire.
Making sure the fire is completely extinguished before getting some much needed shut eye, isa camping safety priority.
