Can Flagyl completely cure Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)

? Yes it can, provided that the doctor who prescribed it to you gave you the right dosage, frequency and length of treatment and that you follow these religiously without fail. And no it can't, if you continue to miss doses, have inconsistent spaces between doses, stop taking the drug as soon as symptoms subside, taking not enough dosage and has other pathological conditions that deplete your immune system, you're doing something to continually trigger the recurrence of the disease or simply can't know the reason why.

Antibiotics can cure BV but you risk having recurrent infection if you comply poorly with the treatment regimen. Abstinence may do you good but if this is too much, perhaps a condom can help prevent aggravate the already imbalanced pH of the vagina. A diet high in vitamins (especially vitamins C and E), minerals and good bacteria (lactobacilli) will help in healing and the balance between the good and bad bacteria. Citrus fruits, sugar and iron supplements are generally avoided. Acidophilus supplements may also be taken. This may greatly help in repopulating the body with the probiotics destroyed during the course of antibiotic treatment.
